Get ready for the exclusive insights of my “Golden Twenties” experience at Vienna’s stylish hotel – Hilton Vienna Plaza. Located right in the heart of the famous Vienna’s Ringstraße, The Plaza is in walking distance to St. Stephen’s Cathedral and other important sights of the city. The building was built in 1872 as a primer hotel (Hotel Austria) for the World Exposition, which was due to take place a year later (the Ottoman Foundation of Ahmed from Constantinople and an Egyptian assembly with mosque and minaret has been constructed at the same time). It was the fifth World Expo and the first in a German-speaking country. It became an i.a.r. police directorate in 1874, until it was completely burned down in the 2nd world war. The Plaza was ceremoniously opened in October 1988, in the style of classical modernism. Recently, the hotel was completely renovated and remodeled in 1920’s style, strongly influenced by Art Deco Design. Decorated with 1,000 art works and Carrara marble floor in lobby, rooms and suites with marble bathrooms, balconies on Penthouse floor, ensures to create an atmosphere which combines the historic splendor with the highest level of comfort, while keeping the doors open to the contemporary lifestyle of the city. You will find echoes of Art Deco, but above all creations of the world-famous Viennese architects of the first half of the 20th century, such as Josef Hoffmann, Otto Wagner, Adolf Loos and Josef Frank.
As you remember, in January I wrote about the Golden Masquerade Ball, where you could see the stylish interior of the Hilton Vienna Plaza. The parties theme was inspired by the “Golden Twenties” because of the flourishing and iridescent art and cultural scene. Art, culture and science experienced a golden age and enjoyed a rapid growth. Women began to move about in public more at ease, they were allowed to dress more freely, take part in the nightlife and even smoke.
To represent this era in modern way, I teamed up with the Hilton Vienna Plaza to show you the key experiences, what the Plaza offers to have the best 1920’s Lifestyle experience. You can book your own MAGIC MOMENTS package, that includes two nights stay, including breakfast at the ÉMILE Restaurant & Bar and a *40-minutes Viennese traditional horse carriage ride. Also the Plaza 1920’s Experience package which includes, upgrade upon availability, VIP welcome amenity in your room upon arrival, welcome cocktail in ÉMILE Bar, Austrian 3-course dinner on the first evening of your stay. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the ÉMILE restaurant & Bar or in your room without additional room service charge. Then a wonderful 20’s style cocktail course at ÉMILE Bar, complimentary four hour rental of two vintage bicycles, and a Plaza memory picture provided by Front Office. Enjoy the pictures below!
