Havana is a city like no other place on earth. A place where time stands still, where people live in poverty, but they still remain human and kind. However, this city still wraps you up in its magic as soon as you arrive in town.
Located in the heart of the majestic Old Havana, and surrounded by the main UNESCO World Heritage buildings, the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski is Cuba’s first luxury hotel. On entering, you are greeted by a modern interior and Ladies in Red.
Before stepping into the ultimate Cuba travel guide, I will start the journey with our first stay in Havana at one of the newest hotels in town.
The legendary capital of Cuba, is one of the most vibrant colonial cities I have visited. Strolling around narrow streets, surrounded with crumbling colonial façades, salsa live music everywhere, American vintage cars— it’s just like stepping back in time.
Behind the authentic and destroyed colonial façades, and only a few steps away from the National Capitol Building (El Capitolio) you’ll find the recently opened Gran Hotel Bristol by Kempinski.
When the holidays were over— all the festive and end of the year duties had been fulfilled, I was more than ready to take some days off to recharge and reset my whole system. The new year is always a great time to rest and reflect on the highs and lows of the year before, and prepare a plan to master the next 12 months head on without compromising on your health and wellbeing.
