Where to stay, eat, drink, shop and swim at Portugal’s vibrant capital city
It’s a gloomy and rainy afternoon in Vienna, while I am uploading the images of my Lisbon trip. Never have I thought that Lisbon would take my breath away the moment I arrived in this beautiful coastal capital.
With approximately 4.5 million annual visitors, Lisbon has a lot of international fans who visit the city for its historic ruins, music, strolling around the old town, trams, great food and of course– pasteis de nata.
Our journey started from Vienna to Lisbon, followed by a short trip to the Sesimbra region. Today, I want to share some of my personal tips and suggestions by the locals who have recommended new places where to eat, drink and what to see.
Get ready for the exclusive insights of my “Golden Twenties” experience at Vienna’s stylish hotel –Hilton Vienna Plaza. Located right in the heart of the famous Vienna’s Ringstraße, The Plazais in walking distance to St. Stephen’s Cathedral and other important sights of the city. The building was built in 1872 as a primer hotel (Hotel Austria) for the World Exposition, which was due to take place a year later (the Ottoman Foundation of Ahmed from Constantinople and an Egyptian assembly with mosque and minaret has been constructed at the same time). Last but not least, today I want to tell you everything about Bali and my personal favorite places where to stay, eat, shop as well as what to see and do in this beautiful tropical paradise. Some say this island is overrated, a paradise that has lost its way and getting dirtier every year. But really it has just devopleped transforming from a low-key hippie haven to a enormous soulful place, where you can stay smart but still find a barefoot vibe.
Magical views, breathtaking sunsets, mesmerizing dining experience, and the most perfect birthday long-weekend I’ve ever had in Bill & Coo Suites & Lounge in Mykonos
Nothing makes more memorable, than traveling and spending your time in a wonderful place, where you feel comfortable in a ultimate luxury of the trendiest hotel in Mykonos. For this year’s birthday, I wanted to escape somewhere and thank to Silia, who suggested Bill & Coo Suites & Lounge, I had no doubt and said YES to this trip to Mykonos together with her.
On the top of the Alps – The Kempinski Grand Hôtel des Bains, offered me a luxurious weekend at the world’s oldest winter holiday resort (since 1864) and the most popular destination of the upper class and international Jet Set, as well as one of the most expensive ski resorts in the world – St. Moritz
Switzerland’s top ski resort haven – St. Moritz is one of the richest, glamorous and uber-trendy ski resorts in Europe, attracting well-sparkling non-skiers and serious athletes, since 1864. Those who follow me on Instagram, already know that the Kempinski Grand Hôtel des Bains, invited me together with Sonja and Maria for the season opening in St. Moritz last weekend.
After a long road trip from Vienna to Salzburg and then from Salzburg to St. Moritz, our trip by car was fun and very interesting to see the most picturesque railway lines, gorgeous Swiss Alps, UNESCO world heritage, featuring helical tunnels and breathtaking viaducts.
When we arrived to the Kempinski Grand Hôtel des Bains, a hotel that is ahead of its time, that creates traditions and cultivates them – for decades, I was stunned by the grand building, with tradition, perfect location and with a wonderful view to the Swiss Alps. Greeted by our brilliant host Paul, we felt the wonderful welcome in a unique and sophisticated atmosphere, for which he planed everything to make us happy. A genuine warm welcome with Veuve Clicquot Champagne and Valmont facial cream gift at our rooms, wonderful apéro and dinner meetings, unique events, that has been perfectly organized in sophisticated and yet relaxed way.
My Grand Deluxe room was perfectly styled with antique, combined with contemporary furniture and bright colors, with modern photo art and historic pictures. After I unpacked hundreds of winter outfits, I got ready for apéro at the Kempinski Bar and for the dinner to meet all invited bloggers.
Our first group meeting for an apero, took place at Kempinski Lobby & Bar. A very cozy area, perfect for apero or high tea, to enjoy fine Swiss Patisserie and the delicious club sandwiches.
After the apero and small conversation with the invited bloggers, we had a wonderful exquisite dinner at the Restaurant Enotoca (15 Gault Millau points). The Lifestyle restaurant demonstrates a tasteful blend of tradition, with beautiful restored last-century ceiling frescos. It is famous for its Alpine Trilogies – three delicacies in every course. We had a perfect four course menu, starting with variation of char with Chioggia beetroot and young spinach. Than grison free range egg on wild broccoli with Perigord truffle. After a mind-blowing main course, val mustair veal entrecote, with chanterelles kohlrabi vegetables and La Ratte confit. As fourth course, we had a delicious dessert, variation of chestnuts with cranberries ans maple syrup.
Loved to stay at Grand Deluxe, with a stunning view to the mountains.
We had a wonderful breakfast at grand restaurant Les Saisons, the award winning restaurant of 14 Gault Millau points, that offered a great selection of fresh and heathy food, from fresh drinks to truffle eggs and many more.
Honeycomb.
Les Saisons offers the best steaks from around the world, as well as a high-class international menu. Also top-quality meat including Wagyu, Swiss dry-aged and USDA Prime. Surf & Turf with hoyden king prawns or grilled Yellow Fin Tuna and Canadian Lobster, as well as an impressive selection of wines.
After the breakfast, we had the opportunity for some sightseeing at St. Moritz, than an exclusive Champagne Get-together at La Perla Boutique in St. Moritz.
Nothing looks better than seductive La Perla lingerie.
After long day of sightseeing, we were back to the hotel to get ready for apero in at Kempinski Lobby & Bar and than to go to Xavier Naidoo’s concert to open St. Moritz’s Jubilee Winter.
An “Open Air” concert venue, by my favorite artist Xavier Naidoo, who opened the “150 Years of Winter Tourism” Jubilee winter in St. Moritz.
Facts: The Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains is located in St. Moritz Bad, right at the Mauritius spring, the actual root of St. Moritz itself. It is the only 5 star hotel in St. Moritz, with direct access to the cross-country skiing area and immediately opposite of the cable car station to the ski and biking region Corviglia.
