DIY BEAUTY: HOW TO TREAT HAIR LOSS NATURALLY?

Many of us experience seasonal hair loss during fall and winter months. It’s upsetting to look at your hair brush and see your hair falling out. However, some extra shedding in the months leading up to fall or winter is no cause for panic.

Few weeks ago, I met my favorite person and role model in natural cosmetics business, Mrs. Christina Wolff-Staudigl. She was so kind to show me her personal secret, how to treat hair loss naturally with essential oils.

In naturopathy, hair loss usually occurs due to a hormone imbalance or other underlying health issues. If hair loss is beyond control, more blood testing is necessary. The doctor may test for levels of the hormone. Therefore it’s important not only to treat the symptoms, but also to investigate the causes.

So if you are losing hair, it’s important not to freak out, your mane will recover.

Holistic methods usually help most efficiently. For example, iron is essential for producing hair cell protein; Vitamin B12 deficiency often causes hair loss as it can affect the health of red blood cells. When you recognize your problem, then it’s easier to treat the hair loss from the outside.

Rosemary, camphor, pine and thyme oils have been used to treat hair loss for over 100 years. Herbs and vegetable oils stimulate healthy hair growth and care for the scalp in a healthy way.

Here is the recipe that Mrs. Staudigl has created:

  • 50 ml of rosemary hydrolate – Slows down hair loss
  • 50ml nettle extract – Stimulates hair growth
  • 5 drops of sage oil – Promotes blood circulation to the scalp
  • 5 drops of camphor oil
  • 5 drops of mountain pine oil – Stabilizes and refreshes the scalp

Application:

Apply the mix of oils everyday directly to the scalp. Best on wet hair, because the hair absorbs less of the oils and it gets better on the scalp. Massage the scalp. Do not rinse.

Note: You can get all these ingredients at Staudigl.
