THE PLAZA 1920’s LIFESTYLE EXPERIENCE

April 6, 2018

Get ready for the exclusive insights of my “Golden Twenties” experience at Vienna’s stylish hotel – Hilton Vienna Plaza. Located right in the heart of the famous Vienna’s Ringstraße, The Plaza is in walking distance to St. Stephen’s Cathedral and other important sights of the city. The building was built in 1872 as a primer hotel (Hotel Austria) for the World Exposition, which was due to take place a year later (the Ottoman Foundation of Ahmed from Constantinople and an Egyptian assembly with mosque and minaret has been constructed at the same time). WMW

March 5, 2018

What makes us want to travel and explore the world? Of course, the cultural differences we encounter. Being able to understand the humans from their cultural standpoint of where they come from and what they believe, as well as where those beliefs come from. Therefore I want to talk about the World Museum or Weltmuseum Wien (former Museum of Ethnology) in Vienna, which is the largest anthropological museum in Austria build in 1876. Located in the Hofburg Imperial Palace, WMW has a comprehensive ethnographical and archaeological objects from Asia, Africa, Oceania, and America. Since November 2014 the museum was closed due to renovation and was reopened on the 25th of October 2017.

Ethnological museums are witnesses to the cultural diversity and changes of our human societies. – WMW

The collections range from Ancient Egyptian and Greek and Roman Antiquities to Medieval Art and the splendid Renaissance and Baroque. So the museum is divided into eight different collections, some of which are housed in the Hofburg and in Schönbrunn Palace.

HALLSTATT – THE CHOCOLATE-BOX VILLAGE

January 15, 2018

Hiding deep between the Dachstein mountains, approximately one hour far from Salzburg, with its lakeside views and charming old buildings make Hallstatt one of the most charming villages in Europe. There must have been fairytales born from this spot and so perfect, that China made an exact replica of the village to serve as high-end housing. When I heard about this fact I had to laugh, because they can really go too far doing replicas! *giggles*

WELLNESS IN SOUTH TYROL

May 16, 2017

After visiting the south of the Italy, Südtirol Tourismus invited me to visit the most beautiful autonomous province in northern Italy, South Tyrol. The province is bordered by Austria to the east and north, specifically by the Austrian federal-states Tyrol and Salzburg, and by the Swiss canton of Graubünden to the west. The landscape itself is mostly cultivated with different types of valleys and forests and is highly mountainous. Entirely located in the Alps, the province’s landscape is dominated by mountains.
