Bad skin at our age…it shouldn’t happen, right? Well, it does. We hear about adult acne very often, but can someone who has this problem get it under control? Yes, with professional skin analyzer and SkinCeuticals treatment. Here is my personal experience, how I solved my acne problem in a short time.
As a teenager, my skin was great! I almost had no pimples, maybe sometimes before my period, but in generally my skin was radiant and clean. My friends always asked me, what I’m doing to my skin? And my answer was always, nothing but washing my face with baby soap and moisturizing with a light day cream. Some of my friends had spots, but that was normal in that age and there was always Clearasil Hide The Blemish. I thought in the fact that when I get older, my skin would be still blemish-free and beautiful, but when I got 30 it wasn’t the same!
This year exactly beginning of 2016 my skin got worse! I didn’t spent a fortune on skincare, because I wasn’t sure what is happening with my skin and my body. I felt very tired, had redness on my cheeks, started to get huge painful pimples. I felt uncomfortable, embarrassed, distressed of adult acne. Especially, whenever I had shootings and my concealer helped me to hide them. However, that was not the solution!
While teenage spots are most common on the oily T-zone (and this pattern continues if you have the persistent kind), adult-onset acne is usually seen on the cheeks, chin, jawline and neck, called the U-zone. By this point in your life, it feels as though you should have your hormones under control, but women experience far greater fluctuations throughout their life than men, making us vulnerable for a longer period – because, whatever your age, hormonal change is still the biggest acne trigger.
This treatment is great for tired and dull skin, when the radiance is missing because of stress, lack of sleep, or at a asymmetrical skin (pigmentation). During the treatment I got various massages that stimulated the microcirculation, in order to revitalize the skin. Specially matching to the skin type, the dermatologist used SkinCeutical products like cleanser, facial toner, mask and sunscreen products etc. When you scroll down, you’ll see which products I am using since I got the treatment.
But before I talk about the products, I had some questions that wanted to ask Mrs. Dr. Shirin Milani and here is my interview with here:
Disi Couture: What causes the adult acne? Do the pimples come from stress, hormones or by poor diet?
Dr. Moser Milani: A certain genetic tendency is always there, as well as other factors influence adult acne additionally. But for sure, hormonal factors play a role as well. Nutrition has been always a discussion!
DC: When we talk about food: what should the concerned person quit eating?
MM: Unfortunately I don’t have reliable data, but I know that dairy products and sugar are mostly discussed.
DC: What is the difference between adult acne and teenage acne skin treatment?
MM: Adult acne is often found in the lower cheek area that the skin may have a dry structure and yet make inflammatory changes. So it’s important to choose the best care, which is tailored to the individual needs. In medical therapy it is necessary to clear the pores, skin revitalization, sebum corrector and anti-inflammatory therapy.
DC: What is necessary to observe in terms of side effects?
MM: Acne therapies can cause redness and dryness of the skin, but with a good matching care products you can control the changes on your skin.
DC: What kind of treatments you offer in your Medical SPA to affected women? What kind of different approaches are there?
MM: For acne a professional acne cleansing should be periodically indicated. Only the dermatologist has a corresponding magnifier and sees the blocked pores. With strong inflammation, a medical therapy is often indicated or a customized laser treatment that is perfectly matched to a skin type. Important to kmow, DON’T squeeze the pimples, however tempting. You risk scarring and worsening the spot by pushing inflammation deeper into the surrounding tissue.
DC: I drink almost no alcohol, I don’t (never) smoke, I use almost just a little salt or sometimes no salt at all, do lots of sports, drink a lot of water – but very often I have puffy eyes! What are the causes of swollen eye area?
MM: Loose connective tissue around the eyes store the water. Also a poor diet with plenty of hidden salt may play a role. The best help for swollen eyes are regular lymphatic drainage and a high-quality eye product.
DC: Why is important to do do a skin analysis at Moser Milani SPA?
MM: Only with this kind of treatment you can properly see what your skin needs and after a successful treatment the result can be checked again.
DC: How often should a facial treatment be done?
MM: Moisturizing treatments or light scrubs can be done every 2 weeks, however professional facials treatments are recommended to repeat every 4-6 weeks.

– Keep babaies and young children out fo direct sunlight

So What Are Some Things You Can Do?
Protect your skin from the sun. If at all possible, avoid or limit sun exposure and tanning. While a suntan or sunburn can temporarily mask acne, it only leads to increased skin inflammation and dehydration. This can cause the skin to break out even more.
In terms of makeup, be sure to read the ingredients and know what you are putting on your skin. Acne-prone women need to be wary about the cosmetics they put on their faces. It’s well known that some cosmetics can aggravate pre-existing acne and irritate sensitive skin. Again, always check makeup ingredients before buying. And be sure to avoid products with stearic acid or lanolin oils, as they can clog pores and aggravate acne.
Eat right! And limit your dairy and sugar intake. Clinical trials have found that cow’s milk increased both the number of people who got acne and its severity. Other large randomized trials found that people who had higher sugar intake and a high glycemic load diet had significantly more acne.
Keep in mind, if your diet consists of foods that are high in fat, salt and sugar, then you’re probably not getting enough of the nutrients your skin needs. Drink lots of water and eat plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and foods rich in vitamin A.
