DISI COUTURE MEETS TWINGO

November 20, 2015

sisterMAG & Renault presents a wonderful collaboration with four bloggers and four Renault Twingos as fashion accessory

magazine-sistermag-renault-Renault-Twingo-Disi-Couture-Edisa-Shahini

In the beginning of October 2015, sisterMAG flew me to Berlin for a very special shooting with Marco di Filippo for Renault Twingo. It was simply the most amazing experience I have ever had. sisterMAG did a wonderful job organizing such a huge production and gathering four bloggers from Germany among them Diana, Mary, Konni, Valerie and me from Austria.

Renault Twingo reflects personality right down to your wheels. If you are about red, white or blue color, Renault Twingo adds wonderful vibrant colors to match every personality. I had the chance to test the white Urban Twingo, and the red exterior touch pack on the Crystal White body color gives Twingo a sporty allure with edge.

Twingo is ideally suited to urban driving: compact and agile, i can go anywhere. Parking maneuvers are easy, since Twingo is just 3.59m long, rear parking sensors and reversing camera (optional)! The range of petrol engines lets you adapt your driving to any type of road. It also features a functional, easy-acces storage compartment for front passengers.

Visit sisterMAG to read the whole story and see the behind-the-scenes video, as well as a short story with me. Here I want to share some behind-the-scenes photos, photographed by Cristopher Santos:

YLLKA BRADA “BRADA MEN” AUTUMN/WINTER 2015/16

October 6, 2015

A men’s collection with unique pieces designed by Yllka Brada for autumn/winter 2015/16 collection starring Ledri Vula and photographed by me

08-Ledri-Vula-Yllka-Brada-Edisa-Shahini-Photography-blue-bomber-jacket
Many times I was asked to blog about men’s fashion and style, which actually I did several times in the past, but the last seasons were extremely busy and I didn’t managed to write anything about this topic (shame on me!).
However, this is not just an article about men’s fashion, but also my latest photography work. These photos where shared many times on Yllka Brada‘s and Ledri Vula‘s Instagram lately, and now I want to share with you my favorite images.

I like to make different creative things, and photography was always one of my favorite hobbies. Here I am proudly presenting my favorite shots from the latest photography project I did for my dearest Yllka Brada, who is the creative mind behind this unique collection “Brada Men” autumn/winter 2015/16 collection. Yllka Brada is a young fashion designer based in Prishtina (Kosovo). She studied fashion in University of Arts in Prishtina and Fashion Federation in Paris. She is very well known especially for her menswear and choosing different characters as testimonial for her collections.

Everything was planed this summer, as Yllka decided to do something special for her newest collection. Suddenly we agreed on traveling to Paris in mid-September and to shot all the unique pieces in Paris’s streets with the talented Ledri Vula, who is also Yllka’s close friend.

The famous singer and song writer Ledri Vula is very well-known in Kosovo, Albania and in the whole Albanian diaspora. Knowing that he is one of the most talented personalities in the Albanian music industry, I was very excited to work in this project which was quiet different role for Ledri, who is essentially rather to be seen on the stage and videos than on photography.

When just autumn leaves started to fall, we were strolling from the 1st arrondissement of Paris, to Arrondissement de l’Élysée, than Montmartre to Marais and any many other places. We found perfect locations and corners to shoot all these wonderful tailor-made pieces, which can be ordered directly by contacting Yllka Brada. I hope you enjoy all these images and my latest photography work!

BLACK SUIT

October 1, 2015

No matter what you choose, though, the suits must always be perfectly fitted, so you look amazing—and just, well, so stylish. A Yllka Brada tailored pieces, combined with a smart top, looks pretty and polished rather than basic and functional

Black-Suit-Yllka-Brada-Besim-Mydyti-Edisa-Shahini-Prizren-Aug-2015-03
Looking stylish while maintaining a level of professionalism and sophistication by arriving at work or anywhere else in a chic and sophisticated business suit. There is variety of styles, black suits for women are ideal for conveying a powerful message inside or outside of the office.

In collaboration with the fashion designer Yllka Brada, she created a tailor made black embellished blazer in baroque style and 3/4 tailored trousers. This stylish and stunning, yet powerful and professional suit by choosing to accessorize with simple yet sophisticated accessory pieces, makes this look even more attractive.

I love to wear all kind of suits, especially with pants for a stylish and professional fashion ensemble, or sometimes I select a skirt or blazer with lace or ruffles for a look that has a little feminine flair.

BLUE & WHITE

May 11, 2015

Sometimes when black and white is too stark for me, the white and blue subtle version becomes my speed. I tried this color-combo, like making a statement with little to no color

03-Ralph-Lauren-Bag-Festival-Coachella-PRTTY-Temporary-Jewelry-Tattoos-Disi-Couture-StyleGuideTV

At this point, it isn’t about the rules of when you can wear all-white or putting a bit of color on it, but it’s about how you wear it. New styling tricks include mixing textures, layering multiple pieces, and teaming various shades. For this shooting, I choose to wear a very simple but significant combination with flared jeans. Flares are back from the seventies with a vengeance, though, trouncing down the runways and on the streets on the legs of editors, bloggers, and God knows who else! Some like them, some hate them, but sometime I love to switch in something different. Thanks to Patrick Domingo and his amazing SONY A7S camera, these photos turn out into a real editorial photography. I am obsessed with the location, and it was a perfect choice of outfits we decided to wear for this shooting. See also the part one of this shooting plus the video here.

I GOT MY EYES ON YOU

May 10, 2015

Good tailoring never goes out of style, and ditto to menswear-inspired style influence. Has there ever been anything as cool and unapologetically femme as a lady in a chic suit?

Watch our StyleGuide TV style video and lookbook

the-pantsuit-black-and-white-the-grand-hotel-part-three-disi-couture-01

Unfortunately, this is the last outfit from our the Grand Hotel Wien shooting. I love wearing tailored blazer and wide cut trousers in Marleine Dietrlich’s style. Dressing a woman in men’s clothing was surely a revolution with regards to the feminine wardrobe, either a consequence of or maybe even in conjunction with the women’s movement of the 1960s. By now, we’re the 21st Century, and today, the pantsuit, which in the ’70s had been considered an exception to the classic women’s wardrobe, has now become a part of the common fashion.

Sometimes it seems so common as to even seem boring – especially when worn by “career”-minded women. Forget everything you know about traditional power dressing, the new trouser suit comes with whimsical touches. You can leave the shoulder pads at home, but this season a cropped trouser is essential.

Wearing: Black and white striped blazer & other stories, black trousers from Stefanel, silk top from Madeleine Fashion, shoes from TopShop x Zalando, silver necklace from Myns, silver rings by Nialaya.

GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING

May 7, 2015

Whether fancy or costume, nothing can add oomph to your wardrobe like jewelry and the black and white combo

black-white-trousers-bik-bok-grand-hotel-wien-2015-disi-couture-02

The second part of the StyleGuideTV editorial shooting at Grand Hotel Wien, comes with another strictly elegant and chic outfit I choose to wear. First things first: let’s talk about color (or, lack thereof). My closet owns a palette of black, navy, white and beige. It’s far from unimaginative, though! The secret to monochromatic chic is ensuring everything fits as it should. Because that’s when things get interesting: sleeves that graze the wristbone, t-shirts than encompass the perfect amount of stretch and slouch, and a subtly oversized black blazer that looks as through I’ve pinched it from my boyfriend’s closet.

Black and white is a timeless combo—it’s one of the few trends that never seems to fall out of favor. And while we’re all about the classic look, sometimes it can be a challenge to make a colorless outfit stand out. Op-art stripes add a quirky touch to a casual day dress, while a patterned party frock gets a dose of edginess in black-and-white. The best part? A monochromatic palette works for every occasion, season and person-it’s flattering on just about anyone!

Wearing: blazer from Madeleine, black and white top and white trousers from BikBok, earrings from H&M, shoes from TopShop x Zalando, silver rings by Nialaya Jewelry, earrings from H&M

DOLCE VITA

May 3, 2015

The Grand Hotel Wien in Vienna, offers since 1870 a living reminder of the majestic age of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where sophistication meets elegance

blue-white-madeleine-myns-disi-couture-grand-hotel-wien-2015-01

Our hard work paid off again! Finally, I can show you the Grand Hotel Wien editorial (part one) photos, which is by far my favorite photoshoot with my best friend and StyleGuide TV partner – Sonja. If you follow me on Instagram, you most probably saw that this project was realized end of February. Unbelievable how fast the time went by, but yea, patience is a conquering virtue!

Having lots of crazy weeks and stressful days, now it’s time to apply the same strategy to all the other noise in my life, by starting with the noise in my head.  And although it’s not quite as easy as spinning the radio’s volume dial, the good news is – I can quiet my mind and train it to think more rationally simply by reminding myself to do so every day. Some people call them affirmations, or mantras, or convictions, but in any case these daily reminders keep you on track by keeping peaceful, productive thoughts at the top of your mind, even when life gets noisy.

This photoshoot has been realized in a super deluxe suite of the Grand Hotel Wien, in a typical Viennese style. This hotel provides its guests an extremely comfortable and homelike rooms, where classic music mixes with classic architecture. Exquisite fabrics, rare antiques, classic decoration and state-of-the-art technical equipment will make you feel thoroughly at home.

I named this part as “Dolce Vita”, because when we focus on leading a passionate, meaningful life, we are also inadvertently creating a spectacular ripple effect of inspiration in the lives around us. When one person follows a dream, tries something new, or takes a daring leap, everyone nearby feels their passionate energy; and before too long, they are making their own daring leaps while simultaneously inspiring others. Only passions, great passions, can elevate the soul to great things! At some point, you will come to realize that living the good life involves some amount of necessary pain, and that there are more flavors of pain than ice cream and coffee combined…

Wearing: baby blue coat and silk blouse by Madeleine, bold striped skirt and sandals by Zara, silver necklace “My Dreams” by MYNS, silver rings by Nialaya Jewelry, watch by Daniel Wellington, bangles by Pandora and Madeleine Issing.

TAKE ME TO THE DANCE

February 25, 2015

Zalando-Cocktail-Kleid-Palais-Coburg-Wien-Vienna-Disi-Couture-07

Here is another outfit from our latest shooting at Palais Coburg. This time I am at the Mirror Hall of Palais Coburg, where I felt like Marie Antoinette for the day! I love this cocktail dress by Oasis from Zalando. It has a gorgeous embellishment and it’s perfect elegant for dinner date, cocktail events and more.

One of my favorite quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche says “We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.” Therefore, I love to attend balls in Vienna, where you can dance from classical to pop music in wonderful opulent locations. The dance can reveal everything mysterious that is hidden in music, and it has the additional merit of being human and palpable. Dancing is poetry with arms and legs!

There are only few hours left until the New Year’s Eve (a.k.a. the best excuse to dress up, wearing glamorous outfits) comes. Like the ‘Pre-New Year’s Eve‘ and ‘Golden Holidays‘ post, this is also another gorgeous gown from my latest shooting with Sonja. For my last outfit post for 2014, I am wearing this fabulous piece from ZOË by Inge Cecka available at RUNWAY Vienna and and CIRO jewelry.

As throwback, you might missed my last year’s NYE celebration at „Le Grand Bal“ with dinner, waltz and fireworks, however this year I will celebrate NYE at home with my family.

And now, we welcome the new year, another chance to get it right! Your success and happiness lies in you. Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulties!

Happy New Year! 🙂
